I am signed up and going to:
Nice!
JPA enabled me to play with storing objects over the summer. A lot nicer than writing SQL by hand.
...with regard to EJB and other ORM solutions.
I'm not sold. We have a large base of Hibernate code here at my job and I'm not sold on how this type solution makes writing SQL any easier. So using Hibernate as my reference for ORM solutions... I don't like them.
Not only is it way too much configuration, but Hibernate has so many issues of its own that I'm not convinced the work hours put into maintaining Hibernate outweigh the time taken to just write SQL by hand.
Plus, all our Hibernate apps seem to run slower than if we were to write that same code by hand using SQL.
But hey... I'll listen to a presentation I guess :)
Ah, hibernate...
I may have slipped in another hibernate app at work over the summer, sorry about that :)
I missed it...
I am new to UST, just started my graduate program. I was wondering will there be another event like this in future.
missed
too far for me to travel unfortunately.
